The Sacrifices of Moving

What sacrifices have you made in life?

As we all have made sacrifices in life for various reasons of something or someone that and who is valued to us, I will share mine.

My biggest sacrifice was moving to north Texas from west Michigan to find constant employment after losing my job of 21 years. I gave up seeing my friends and family in person because of the distance.

My second sacrifice of leaving friends and family is when my parents decided that my siblings, I and them to leave metro Detroit to northern Michigan. I was distanced from friends who accepted me to strangers who labeled me then judged me primarily from my grade/class. Four years of challenges.

My sacrifices of moving have been both challenging and rewarding that tested my Faith, my relationships and even my ability to survive when life changes out of my favor.

As I consider a move to the Long Island Sound region/NYC metro area, I’ll be closer to family both immediate and distant members. But, not any close friends in the area. 1692 miles of leaving the plains of north Texas to the shores of the Long Island Sound of sacrifice.
