You get to build your perfect space for reading and writing. What’s it like?
The perfect space for reading and writing for me and my feline diva princesses is a dream for my future home back home that will be comfortable and peaceful.
Currently, I live in a neighborhood that is full of tract homes that all have the same floor plan and same exterior but, thank goodness, people have made them unique with adding personal touches. At night, I hear trains and during the day, I hear the freeway a few miles away. Somedays, the pollution from the freeway lands in the area too.
My home is short on space inside plus my online closet takes up one room in itself, another room of things I didn’t unpack and the third bedroom is setup as my room. Mainly, I write in my living room.
My next home that I have a strong sense of that I will be back in a small town back in northern Michigan where I went to high school. The nearest freeway is 60 minutes east of the town. One might hear fog horns from the water for passings ships and birds outside the window.
My peaceful and comfortable space will involve a big comfortable chair near a window with a table and a floor lamp preferably in a condo overlooking a golf course or being on or near the water that flows into nearby Lake Michigan with opening up my windows to listen to the birds and the breeze plus see the occasional eagle. My cat’s space nearby would be the other chair of a matching set for them to nap while listening to the peace and quiet.
In addition, I will have time and space to walk into town or ride my bike near the beach to find inspiration. Spending time outside experiencing natural therapy listening to the waves and hearing the breeze plus experiencing beautiful sunsets over Lake Michigan.
My inspiration is that Ernest Hemingway wrote many of his books or got inspiration for them of land that he owned about ten miles east of my former family residence and my future home. Mr. Hemingway found peace of mind and soul being near the water in the woods of northern Michigan.
As for now, I will be content and thankful with me and my felines in my living room to write and to dream.
