First of all, I got a job with Walmart for part time alone would knock off my benefits. Secondly, I signed up for SSI for retirees from a suggestion from a friend cause he knew that I don’t want to foreclose on my home plus I’m old enough.
Next, one can get payments for both in the same week as long as it gets reported which would be the following week. I plan to close out my unemployment with the State of Texas because of my new job and my benefits so no need to report or keep it open to do so.
Each State functions differently and one should read all material related to information needed. For myself, I’m happy to terminate my unemployment benefits because it’s the final step to end my relationship with my former employment.
Unemployment is a journey on its own that I don’t wish on anyone then add social security then one must learn.
