Face it, we’re the sum of are parents and those before them. Everything from appearance to personality can be tied to genetics then altered due to experience, to education plus environment.
My appearance of being dark complexion and dark blue eyes are from my grandparents and greats from my Dad’s side. My small frame and light colored hair are from my Mom’s side. Plus, the diseases follow too though grateful that me or my siblings have never gotten a cancer diagnosis.
My personality is much different than my siblings and my cousins of being forthright, honest and truthful that many don’t like but lies and dishonesty hurt more than truth. Been told by my Mom that I have a, “gift,” that my siblings or cousins don’t have. It’s the ability to see things that others don’t. The ability requires maintenance so I use meditation to recharge it.
My seeing things when triggered goes beyond what the physical world is and goes beyond emotion and thought. It’s a deeper sense of reality. This gift is from a great Aunt who lived in an area once called, Detroit Beach, who only trusted her intuition of sight and sensation regarding everyone and everything.
In closing, my gift has saved me from lies, deceit and even violence. Yet, it has opened doors of opportunity and of dreams.
