Work Sick

Instead of being homesick, one might say that I’m work sick today. It was so bad that I contacted both my former supervisor and one of my coworker’s who is quite social.

The social one who was kind enough to text me back after she passed around hugs on my behalf. I miss the craziness of it all. Yes, I don’t miss her three AM visits, to be clear. Appreciate her kindness today. She got a bunch of my old job tasks since I left.

Grateful that she even spoke to the GM on my behalf. Previously, we would discuss the outgoing mail of his department which I would try to pack in the USPS deep plastic box ahead of the pick up deadline.

God only knows my future whether it would be here in north Texas or in northern Michigan to the town that I’m supposed to, “fix,” but no guidance on how, when or why.

In the meantime, I’ll be mourning my past employment and fixing my work sickness.

Yours truly,

Leslie Elizabeth David.
