Early this morning despite the weather, I decided to engage with Texas Workforce Solutions so my benefits would not be interrupted.

As I arrived near my chosen office, its closed to the recent inclement weather in north Texas still. After seeing no vehicles present and doors locked, a gentleman arrived that he was going to miss his three day window to join so that his benefits won’t be stopped or delayed. His stress that he was feeling, I understood completely. So, I drove home to contact them to admit fault of not doing the same and face my consequences.

Instead, a spoke to a woman who was my guardian Angel. I admitted my fault of not following up on the process which she explained that everything is set. She encouraged me to download the app and update my information which I did. From the app, I can apply for jobs and attend events virtually.

On top of that, she understood that I’m processing mentally the loss of my employment that hasn’t been pretty. The man who was stressed out, I hope that he called to learn what I have.

Side note: If you sell on Etsy, Mercari or other sites, income from your sales must be listed. Since, I’ve been selling at a loss on all of my inventory, I must show when I request benefit payment. Sale price- cost= loss or gain. Only if you’re on unemployment in the US States and territories.
