Japan cherish the older persons who are considered valuable to their communities and families for their wisdom and experience.
The United States is notorious for advertising and promoting to the younger generations due to their intelligence with technology plus more time to spend income of various products. Leaving out those who are older and wiser generally except for products designed for the mature person.
The ageist society on whole neglects to see the value of the mature adult who has gained wisdom and experience from personal relationships, money and finance, work, education, travel, cooking and baking plus anything that matters. The negative result is that mistakes are being made which from gaining wisdom to be used with intelligence problems would be diverted.
The young are pretty and gorgeous but the mature are beautiful. Look at the covers to magazines to see both extremes.
Finally, the ageist society looks generally at the older community as a whole presumptively dumb and stupid as witnessed individually in both social and professional situations when, in fact, it’s not true. When the younger generations do become “older” than they will realize the that in society, they feel less valuable.
