Friends & Coworkers

In what ways do you communicate online?

The best way that I communicate online with friends is on social apps like Facebook. Although, some connections are kept on LinkedIn.

Thanks to Facebook, I’ve been able to stay in contact with my friends from downriver Detroit whom I’ve known since kindergarten. My conversation with them is normally chill and easy like be wrapped in a warm blanket and a cup of hot tea.

Also, I’ve kept friends from college and afterwards on there. Although, high school on Facebook is sketchy because my free spirit either irritates others or makes them feel uncomfortable likely it did when I was there live. Felt truly alone most of the time back then but now I cherish it.

Recently, I connected with an old high school student who I can relate to because of her truth and honesty. Her brashness made others kinda fear her because she doesn’t and never did tolerate dishonesty and flakiness well. Her image was being tough. Truthfully, she’s actually very kind. She lives in the metro Detroit area.

As I consider a move back up north, I truthfully can and will gauge people’s attitudes from Facebook. It’s not going to be easy living in a small town where labels are given and meant to stick forever although it might only represent a fraction of truth about the person. But, I’ll have the freedom to ride my bike safely and peacefully. Plus, trusting my God given intuition and ability to see people for who they truly are.

Shifting gears towards work life, I am on LinkedIn to remain in contact with coworkers and college friends who are more interested in building up a professional network. After I lost my job of 22 years of employment, the site became my refuge of hope of those who understood my predicament and reality of finding a job in Michigan was not going to happen. Believe that LinkedIn balances my life with the professional aspect.

Yours Truly,
