Vacation

“Vacation is all that I ever wanted. Vacation, happy to get away.” The Go Go’s.

Recently, my sister who lives in upstate New York has invited me next month to northern Michigan where we will stay with our oldest brother who’s taking care of a condo on a huge inland lake. They want it to be a long freezing cold weekend.

Unfortunately, my employer doesn’t like staff taking long weekends off but rather the Monday through Friday because apparently I’m valuable and must have me there in person. My work ethic is focus on work and maybe socialize later which most everyone else has it reversed.

Was going to mention that I was planning to move to Connecticut north of Stamford but south of New Haven that changed after hearing a quiet voice to move back to Michigan. Yet, her personality thought process that she would understand that after critical thinking on logistics, the information received and reviewed, the wise decision would be not to move.

Truthfully, vacation is what I wanted of spending time with them in, hopefully, a non critical environment. Being in the snow and the cold sounds delightful after being in the Texas heat for too long.

Use your vacation time! Life is more than work.
