The above is an old saying that people never change although circumstances and experiences have.
Recently, I attended my second Holiday party of my employer although I’ve worked there for six years. My coworkers were “nice” to me like we were all besties which obviously isn’t true.
A few months ago, I heard my coworker who was talking at 3am to my neighbor. Before leaving, she scraped paint off of brick from my house as a mark of she’s in control. Earlier this morning 3AM CST, I heard someone outside with his/her phone. My only thought is that she’s back. This person has control issues to make sure that everyone says how great of an employee/coworker she is but the truth is that she arrives late and socializes most of the day while I work nonstop. She has even taken credit for my work.
From my life experience is that people will show who they truly are from their behavior either passively or aggressively. The former is actually more pronounced because it’s done in the dark and it’s done quietly, the latter is in daylight and in front of others which public opinion could play against them.
My experience also has taught me is that being quiet helps you see better of who others truly are of the good, the bad and the ugly. Listen to others who think that you cannot hear and see others who think that you cannot observe.
Yours Truly,
Leslie Elizabeth David.
