Milford Connecticut is my most favorite place where I ever visited so much that I have considered moving there up until a couple of weeks ago. It happens to be a coastal community along the Long Island Sound.
Why move there? The town of Milford has old architecture and a community green space for community events plus it’s on the coast of the Sound. I found a reasonably priced condominium association in a nice area. Plus, I felt safe and felt like I belonged.
It is north of Stratford CT, Westport and Bridgeport and south of New Haven along Interstate 95 and US Highway One. Easy to get to from NYC and from Providence. Not far from Hwy 15 which is full of trees and a tunnel that is absolutely beautiful.
The big change for me not moving was the impact of the rent ceiling put on NYC that will have on Connecticut plus also having an intuitive sense not to but move back to a small town in northern Michigan. Truthfully, I would have been budgeted out of the market eventually.
On my way back to Texas from my last trip, I had the opportunity to see the lights of Stamford that were beautiful and spectacular along Interstate 95. Stamford is considered to be a suburb of NYC near the Westchester County AirPort (HPN).
In closing, I found Milford to be peaceful amongst the chaos of the big City not far away.
Thanks for your time,
Leslie Elizabeth David.
