The Long Island Sound

Daily writing prompt
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

After leaving Michigan to find work from losing my longtime employment nearing the end of my unemployment benefits and severance, I moved to Texas for a new life of work and of adventure.

Since I moved to Texas, I probably have visited more of the State than most of the lifetime residents here plus Oklahoma and Louisiana. To date, I’ve been to Austin, Houston, Palo Duro Canyon, The Hill Country including Fredericksburg and Luchenbach leaving pretty much the only place that I haven’t visited is San Antonio. Plus, I have been to Oklahoma City and surrounding areas plus Lake Charles in Louisiana. Most of my travels were done on the weekends when I wasn’t working.

With that being said, I have missed the water. The water such as the Great Lakes where my former home State of Michigan is surrounded by it and plenty of inland lakes in it. The water soothes my soul amidst the chaos of this world where I had a beach that was peaceful and quiet down the road from the action and the noise of a State park.

My next home will hopefully be on near the shores of the Long Island Sound in Connecticut. Years ago, I visited to resolve a situation but I found my beach amongst the chaos of the State being the bedroom region to NYC. The beach is quiet and peaceful plus it feeds my soul like the one in Michigan. It was an unexpected surprise when I stopped to visit a rare food truck on this beach away from the action of other places. It is a semi private area which the locals accepted me so I could stay.

To date, I have contacted a realtor and I have been “window shopping” looking at condos in my chosen area. Coincidentally or not, my previous blog is about the problems with my employment that has no bearing whatsoever on my work performance but of technology upgrades.

Yours Truly,

Leslie Elizabeth David.
