Alternatively Normal

Daily writing prompt
Describe your life in an alternate universe.

Being described as a, “free spirit,” most of my life, I believe that my alternative self would fit in with the world.

With that being said, I would have been born under the sign of my original birthday of Aquarius instead of the edge of Sagittarius. My Mom would have gone full term with me and then some thus no complications of a premature birth.

My childhood would have been one of normal development when I would have fit in and be part of the crowd even lead it at times. My Dad likely would have been proud of me because he would think that I reminded me of him at times. My grades would have reflected my ambition as well as my friends.

Forward, I likely would have attended Michigan State University and been an active member of a sorority even leading it. After graduating, likely sales at a tech company on either coast. Marrying the right man, having a few kids and living in the upcoming neighborhood in the suburbs.

Like my sister is now, I would only be kind to those who are like me and not acknowledge others who aren’t.

My relationship with my parents and my siblings would have been of being of similar likeness. My Dad would have showered me with love and attention then my siblings would have followed.

Truthfully, I am grateful and thankful for the life that I have been blessed with. Grateful that I am unlike my parents and my siblings plus many others. An example is that of one of my sister’s classmates who stated to me that my sister who wouldn’t acknowledge him even to say, “Hello,” which I have. She snubbed him. He has a good heart which didn’t matter to her.

During my lifetime, I’ve been through the, “what if’s,” which leads nowhere. Happy that I’m a free spirit who sees and lives life to my liking. Some love it, some put up with it and others like my family detest my personality.
