Normally since I live alone and I haven’t had a dinner party in a long time, I make primarily foods that fit my mood and hopefully not too many calories or carbs.
Growing up in an Hungarian family in metro Detroit, I grew up eating Chicken Paprikas and Goulash plus Lafayette Coney Island in Greektown, downtown Detroit. From that, resulted in high cholesterol and other issues so I unwillingly became a vegetarian because of my family choice of better health.
The foods that I like to make are making my favorites like spaghetti with a healthy twist of ground turkey, whole grain noodles and fresh sauce. Also, I love making apple pie from scratch with homegrown apples from Michigan.
The best food that I loved to make was roasting a turkey over Thanksgiving for the then guests of the local Ronald McDonald House. Thankful that it turned out well since I roasted it in a bag and was enjoyed by the guests who thanked me later.
Making foods that I like come from memories of my childhood, experiences eating foods from across the country and dining at locally owned restaurants. In addition, my moods and cravings are a huge factor in deciding what to eat.
Have a delicious day!!
