My latest and greatest obsession are the British vintage mysteries being aired mainly on Britbox through the Amazon Prime app. On the search engine, type her name to be directed to her books turned into movies or series.
To date, I have watched most of Agatha Christie books that were transformed into movies or television series. Plus, some of G.K. Chesterton for PBS Series of, Father Brown,” which was well written and casted. Angela Lansbury of, “Murder, She Wrote,” was in some of the Agatha Christie’s books that were transformed onto the television screen.
How did this happen? Truthfully, I was tired of a certain network of continual romance of the same story line but different circumstances. In the morning on the same network company unnamed, I started watching the original “Matlock,” then “Diagnosis: Murder,” and “Murder, She Wrote,” previously mentioned before work. Plus, used the guide of the network after work to catch up on missed episodes. “Castle” was the last American series I watched from the beginning to end. All the above are excellent including the updated “Matlock” and the surprise “Elsbeth.”
Because my flat screen tv is so “smart,” it started matching up shows related to the ones mentioned above which Agatha Christie books that were transformed into television format showed up. “Miss Marple” and “Piorot” was the beginning of it all. “Father Brown” aired on PBS written by G.K. Chesterton was better than I thought it would be.
Latest Agatha Christie was, “Cyanide,” which was quite intense. “Shakespeare and Hathaway” created by BBC Birmingham was a surprise of being better than anticipated. “Luther” was too insane for me. The first scene of the first episode, he’s talking to his wife about marital problems then the next scene is a gruesome murder.
Thank you for allowing me to indulge. Please share your favorite.
