After communicating with my supervisor who I let him know what was happening which he replied that he would “look into it” via email late last night after being asked to do more work by a coworker. This morning, when I arrived my coworkers were all quiet and working which was a shocker to me. Later on, my supervisor asked me if I felt like I was being taken advantage of which I responded, “yes.” Within a few minutes, he talked to the General manager who ended up going downstairs the owners of the business which he came back and talked to my supervisor again.
Truthfully, I am surprised that my supervisor listened and spoke to the General Manager too which I am truly grateful. Don’t know if anything will come of it though for me personally like showing that they appreciate me for my work without little to no socializing. Feeling appreciated today.
The senior employee’s audacious move of given me work while engaged in social conversation with another employee has proved itself foolish. My hope that they recognize that the business is there to serve our customers instead of socializing.
Has something like this happened to you at work or at volunteer meetings?
Thanks Again,
Leslie Elizabeth David.
