Personally, I love travel and adventure especially finding out about new places where I have never been. To me, it’s therapeutic and peaceful.
When I first moved to Texas, I chose to explore the State where I have visited more than most lifetime residents. Houston, Austin, The Hill Country that includes Fredericksburg, Glen Rose, Palo Duro Canyon plus parts of southern Louisiana and Oklahoma.
Growing up in a community south of the City of Detroit, my parents made the decision of our family to travel with the intention of teaching us that the world is much bigger than our side of Detroit. Although, our community literally sits near on an international border. Been to most of Canada, Mexico and 45 States of our country.
After a profound dream I had a few years ago, for closure, I decided to travel to the Long Island Sound area which I discovered Connecticut. My first visit, I found a beach that touched my soul similar to the City of Grand Haven City Beach on Lake Michigan where I could sit listening to the sound of the waves and the seagulls to find peace and solitude. This beach is small. The dream experience may be shared at a later date being unusual and, to some, unbelievable. I plan to visit the area and the beach later this year.
Considered travels by Amtrak which is inexpensive and reasonable for a cabin but time is limited due to work. Considered going on a cruise but I have a tendency for sea sickness as well. Been invited to hike the Appalachian Scenic National Trail which a few friends have done most or all of the whole path.
Many say that. “ I always dreamt about visiting ……,” so may your dreams come true and happy safe traveling. Encourage you to get out of your comfort zone and do it before you can’t.
Please share your experiences and/or advice in the comments.
Thank you,
Leslie Elizabeth David.
