Food is a passion of so many people beyond the “celebrity” chefs that create meals from their/our hearts as a hobby or as an occupation. When someone is passionate about another, that person either takes him/her to their favorite restaurant or to make their favorite meal. Passion comes from the heart and soul.
The passion for creating delicious food is as important has helping others, personal relationships and volunteering. Truthfully, I’m passionate about eating food as well as creating it. Plus, I’m passionate about farm to table cookery that helps local farmers and fisherman economically and benefits the environment.
Cheers to Bobby Flay, Guy Fieri, Ina Garten, Duff Goldman and others who opened our eyes and our hearts on what we can create in our own kitchens. On PBS, “America’s Test Kitchen,” and “Cooks Country” are my favorites that have opened my eyes to make even the simple dish become better.
My favorite restaurant in Texas is, Whiskey Cake, that proudly supports local farmers that are listed on the walls of their first location. My favorite adult beverage is Bubbles & Berries plus my favorite foods are deviled eggs, chicken melt and whiskey cake. In northern Michigan, there was an ice cream/burger take out only restaurant which was a franchise but bought everything locally from farmers such as milk, cheese plus vegetables that made them stand out from other franchisees of the same company. They were always busy because everything they served tasted so good because it was fresh and made with love. Franchise dropped them for not buying all supplies from corporate but they opened up with another name to continue serving their faithful.
What is your favorite food that you love to eat or beverage to drink? What is something that you love to make for yourself and for others? Do you shop local? Many large supermarket chains are now buying local such as HEB in Texas and Meijer in Michigan. Meijer has taken buy Michigan first to everything they sell in their stores then regional, national before buying out the of the country.
