ScienceDirect.com defines “Felt Presence,” the feeling that someone is nearby even though there’s no sensory evidence. There’s numerous causes such as survival situations, bereavement , sleep paralysis, neurological disorders and stress physically and mentally. An “Empath” who is highly sensitive to the emotions of others with strong intuition may have tendencies towards this. Believe that we were designed to have internal sensory to protect us from danger.
In the last six months, I experienced Felt Presence from someone in my past who I was very interested in and felt somewhat connected to on a higher level twice.
My experience a few days ago, I felt the presence of someone who I cared about and was attracted to years ago. I do admit we had chemistry too. The feeling was like he was in my room standing next to me for almost 20 minutes although he lives over 1000 miles away from me. The same thing happened in September concerning the same man. My journal describes the experience of a storm rolling in and consuming everything in its path.
Truthfully, it sounds crazy and inconceivable especially to those who see logic and reasoning to describe life. Understand that I will get questioned about the topic and my life. Understandable. Since my divorce years ago, I realized that I would have to defend myself then and now. My lack of height and my small build would make me a target for physical harm and threats which I realized that I had to change. Considered martial arts and self defense classes but I was concerned it wouldn’t be enough and I wouldn’t be good enough at it to defend myself. Not long afterwards, I chose that mediation would be the best way to sharpen my intuition or gut instinct to defend myself. To transition myself, I sat in the dark for hours with the first few hours was just to remove the junk and the noise from my mind. Then, I started to feel relaxed and calm with a sense of peacefulness that I had never felt before. People always told me that I was “overly sensitive to others,” but I disagreed until the change. Since then, I trust my instincts completely.
In closing, consider the times that you felt threatened of your instincts kicking in or the times that you felt something that you couldn’t explain plus even felt the presence of someone although that person is hundreds of miles away, even running into someone who you felt you have known before. Your senses are aware of your surroundings.
Thank you,
